Suekichi Uchida NY Folding Lounge Chair by Takashi Nii (Black)

The NY folding lounge chair designed by Japanese designer Takashi Nii for Suekichi Uchida. This chair is a Japanese design classic that combines a foldable metal frame, a cotton fabric seat and wooden armrests, resulting in a light and minimalistic aesthetic. It features a low frame that allows for a relaxed lounging position and a high, curving backrest which provides support for your neck. Takashi Nii designed this chair in 1970 and it captivated Japanese design enthusiasts for over half a century. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese way of life, the chair's timeless appeal and meticulous craftsmanship have earned praise from around the world. This design therefor also earned multiple prestigious awards such as the Good Design Award and the Long Life Design Award. This chairs is still in production till this day in Japan.

This is the version with teak armrests which isn't available anymore, and it has a slightly discoloured black canvas. The chrome frame is in great condition and it still folds effortlessly.
