These vintage stools are stamped on the bottom and still in completely original condition. They are approximately from the 1960s and made in Finland from solid birch wood. Alvar Aalto created a way to bend the wood by carving slits in them, curve them and then glue them again. This method was used before the more popular, easier and cheaper way of bending plywood was invented.
