Søren Willadsen Modus Lounge Chair by Kristian Vedel
Beautiful Modus lounge chair designed by Kristian Vedel for Søren Willadsen. This beauty is made in Denmark in the 1960s and has been completely been reupholstered by the amazing Nu-Design. When we received the chair all cushions and leather were dead and not salvageable any longer. So, we brought it to the amazing people at Nu-Design and they did an amazing job of getting it all new cushions and leather and now, it's truly as good as new! The base is made from solid rosewood.
Kristian Vedel (1923- 2003) completed his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker in 1942 and studied a few semesters at Haare Klint at the “Department of Furniture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts” (1947 - 1949) in Copenhagen. He later lectured at the Department of Furniture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
After a lengthy stay abroad, he and his wife opened a design studio in Thyholm, Denmark, in 1972.
