Fog & Mørup Semi Pendant Lamp by Torsten Thorup & Claus Bonderup (White)
Beautiful 'Semi' pendant lamp designed by Claus Bonderup & Torsten Thorup in 1969 for Fog & Mørup. This iconic design was manufactured in Denmark in the 1960s and has been produced by different companies until the 1990s. It has a beautiful elegant shade made from white lacquered aluminium. The shape of the pendant lamp emits a bright, wide light, making it perfect for the dining table, but it can also be used as an eye-catcher to aesthetically illuminate other living areas.
Bonderup and Thorup aimed to create a lamp with sharp, clean lines and a geometric shape as a reaction against the softer, organic forms popular in the 1960s. This design won first price at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. In the 1980s, the lamp became the best-selling Danish design lamp of its time and gaining worldwide recognition and iconic status. Thanks to its versatile design and popularity, Fog & Mørup Semi pendant lamps were used as props in many TV series and movies, including Ridley Scott’s All The Money In The World.
This lamp is in great condition with only minor signs of wear and it fits an E27 bulb (not included).
