Artek Model 91 Dining Table by Alvar Aalto

Artek Model 91 round dining table designed by Alvar Aalto in the 1950s and manufactured in Finland. This dining table is one of Alvar Aalto's famous designs. It's simple and timeless. Made with birch wooden L-legs and the top is made from elm. The table is stained in this beautiful brown color. The table is in great condition with minor signs of usage as can be seen in the photos.

Alvar Aalto, together with carpenter Otto Korhonen, began experimenting with bending solid wood in the late 1920s. The collaboration resulted in an L-leg, which was an invention that took a step towards the mass production of Aalto’s furniture. Alvar Aalto patented the L-leg bending technique in 1933. L-leg became to be the standard component for Aalto’s furniture design and based on the invention also Y-leg and X-leg were later developed.
