Artek Model 68 dining chairs designed by Alvar Aalto. Model 68 is the chair version of the famous Model 60 stool. It has the same seat, but the backlegs are shaped different and longer with backrest. This chair was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1935. They're made in Finland from solid birch wood, with a grey upholstered seat. We have four chairs in stock and the price is per chair!
Alvar Aalto created a way to bend the wood by carving slits in them, curve them and then glue them again. This method was used before the more popular, easier and cheaper way of bending plywood was invented.
