Artek Model 66 Chair by Alvar Aalto (Red)
Artek Model 66 dining chair designed by Alvar Aalto. Model 66 is the version with the higher backrest compared to Model 65 that has the same shape backrest but lower. This chair was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1935. They're made in Finland from solid birch wood, with a veneered backrest and red linoleum seat.
Alvar Aalto created a way to bend the wood by carving slits in them, curve them and then glue them again. This method was used before the more popular, easier and cheaper way of bending plywood was invented.
We have five of these beautiful chairs available and they are all in good condition with normal signs of use.
