Ring-A-Date Perpetual Calendar by Giorgio Della Beffa (Orange)

The Ring-A-Date perpetual calendar designed by Giorgio Della Beffa in 1970 for Euroway. During this era a new material took over the world and changed many markets. The polymer boom of the 1960s and 70s also took over the furniture industry where designers started to create various different objects, especially in Italy. This is when Euroway entered the market with their first successful products. Giorgio Della Beffa designed the Ring-a-Date Perpetual Calendar and it was immediately appreciated by the public all over the world. Its succes was even crowned by an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) in New York.

Many years later the Euroway company is still in business but mainly focussed their business to the production of ballpoint pens and fountain pens. The grandchildren of the founder and designer Giorgio Della Beffa decided to re-issue the Ring-a-Date and start production again, with the same methods and moulding machines since the 70s.

Euorway have introduced his classic design calendar in four colors: Green, White and Orange. Each calendar comes with 3 rings as standard. The orange calendar comes with two black and one white ring, and there is a large range or other colors available separately.

The calendars are made from ABS plastic by injection moulding. The design is purposely made as lightweight as possible. The calendars only way about 500 gram each, but yet they are very strong. This makes that the calendars can easily be hung on any wall.
