Tools Magazine #04 - To Cut
Tools magazine is an annual publication which seeks to promote and decipher the techniques and know-how of manufacturing in art, design, architecture of interior, industry or even crafts. Each issue is devoted to a particular manufacturing technique (molding, folding, etc.) which guides the selection of subjects, pieces and interviewed personalities.
Tools thus delivers an inventory of design, yesterday and today, from history to the transmission of little-known techniques, paying great attention to those who make these cult objects of our daily lives, and which convey the stories at the origin of our common imagination.
Through a historical assessment, reports from factories, the deciphering of savoir-faire, and iconic objects, Tools offers an enquiry into the foldings of yesteryear and the current day, by paying particular attention to those who produce the cult objects of our everyday life and thus convey the histories behind our shared imagination
Edited by Clémentine Berry.
Contributions by Marine Armandin, Camille Azaïs, Vivien Brenière, Bérangère Bussioz, Jenna Castetbon, Daniel Everett, Claire Kail, Alix Lacloche, Charles Negre, Playground Paris, Mark Peckmezian, Tristan Pierard, Maciek Pożoga, Sophie Tajan, Romuald Roudier Théron, Charlotte Willaume, Paul Zahnd.
